I’ve lived here with my boyfriend and three cats. I’m laid back and quiet, and I’ve never had issues with landlords before. The house was messy from the start, with no room on the couch due to his belongings. He didn’t wash the bedsheets before we moved in, and there were stains on the mattress. The bathroom was unbearable, with black rings on the toilet and spots on the shower floor, but I didn’t complain because he seemed busy. He charged us $50 for not cleaning it himself, blaming us for the mess. Although he seems relaxed, he doesn’t listen to feedback. My cats are allowed in the sunroom, but it’s not secure, and they’ve escaped outside. We left them in the bedroom for 10 minutes, and he yelled at us. He tried to charge us for a full house carpet deep clean, showing pictures of cat fur clumps, which didn’t justify it. He assumed I had a lot of money because I’m a nurse and charged me $350 from my deposit. I only lived there for a month, and vacuuming would have sufficed.
