Cabin on Lanier a Quiet Place in the woods

I do not recommend

We rented Sheila's Lake Lanier cabin July 7-August 7 and paid $3,600, including a $500 refundable deposit. The cabin was not ready until July 8. After seeing it in person, we realized it would not work for our family due to the size, lack of closet space, difficult parking, bugs, and overall condition. I immediately told Sheila we would honor the full month unless she re-rented it and refunded us. She later confirmed in writing that she had re-rented it and said, "as soon as I get money I will send." The new renters moved in around July 15, so we no longer had use of the property. Despite repeated follow-ups, we still have not received a refund, including our $500 deposit, and no itemized explanation has been provided. My issue is not that the rental did not work for us; it is that the agreed refund has still not been resolved. I strongly recommend seeing the property in person and getting all refund terms in writing before renting.
