Important Considerations Before Renting

I encourage prospective tenants to review my experience with this rental. During my tenancy, the landlord, maintenance workers, and landscapers entered the property frequently, often daily, without prior notice. Entry was rarely communicated in advance, and multiple individuals accessed the home throughout the lease term, impacting our privacy and comfort. There was also frequent, loud maintenance-related noise from the basement during evening hours, often until 7-8 PM, which could be heard throughout the home, including on the second floor. After move-out, communication regarding my security deposit was inconsistent and required repeated follow-up. Although I was initially told the deposit would be returned, it was not handled in a timely or clearly communicated manner. Deductions were also proposed for landscaping, despite landscaping not being listed as a tenant responsibility in the lease. I recommend future tenants document everything and keep all communication in writing.
