In April, azaleas line the driveway to the cabin.
Magnolia Cabin is glorious, inside and...
...out. Here is Magnolia Cabin from the main house. Laundry, covered deck and other amenities are at the main house.
Just three steps to the front door
Here is a map of our 11-acre property, which is yours to enjoy. Magnolia Cabin and the main house are at the bottom of the image.

Sure, it is small, but it is freshly renovated and exquisitely laid out. You will feel less stressed the moment you walk in.
Everything you need is here.
While guests have enjoyed Magnolia Cabin since its construction in 2006, the delightful kitchenette is brand new, completed in April 2025.
Here's your sweet queen size bed, with soft, high-end linens and lots of pillows. Custom live-edge cedar night stands are at either side. The window above lets in the soothing sounds of crickets and frogs in the evening and happy birdsong each morning. You'll chuckle at your city friends with their silly white-noise machines.
And look! Your spacesaving fold-out live edge cedar dining table matches the nightstands! The table is the standard 30-inch height with dimensions of 22x42 inches, easily accommodating two.
Visible from your bed and from your dining table is a 42-inch Roku-equipped smart television with remote. Our Orbi wifi network assures you will have great service for your TV, phone and other devices. All of this equipment is new in 2025.
Who would have guessed a cabin this cozy would offer a double sink? What an advantage when dishes need attention!
Here's the lovely main room from above. Not shown are the bathroom, closet and loft.
Magnolia Cabin was built from a historic south Louisiana floorplan, which means the Cajun-style steps to the loft are a bit steep. Up there you will find two queen-size floor mattresses, fully dressed with linens and pillows.
Up there you will find two queen-size floor mattresses, fully dressed with linens and pillows. There is also room for a desk for an additional workspace or maybe a comfy chair for reading.
Your bathroom features a sweet shower with lots of water pressure, a handheld shower head and a seat.
We were surprised at first that so many guests through the years mentioned the wonderful shower. But relaxation is the theme at Magnolia Cabin, and a good shower contributes greatly to the cause.
The bathroom sink top has a lot to offer in a little space, especially if you don't mind a cow watching your morning magic happen.
Yep, there's one of these, too.
Outside, our friendly Bigfoot will greet your arrival each day. He often dresses in seasonal attire. Other times, he lets the wildflowers do the talking.
Enjoy our Little Free Library on property at the roadside.
Our directional sign along the driveway is a longtime favorite. Hope you like it!
Magnolia Cabin is perfectly situated in the ideal location, assuring privacy without sacrificing convenience.
Your porch is a great place to read, drink an evening beverage or whatever.
The large deck behind the house is also available to you, although you might find us there some evenings.
The deck is a great place to watch the turtles. How many do you see in this photo?
Walk through glorious pines, plus oaks, magnolias and more on our 11 acres.
Beautiful native azaleas bloom each March, on property and nearby Kisatchie National Forest.
These ladies are regular visitors to our North Pond. We hope our trailcams catch them with fawns this year
A fun collection of chainsaw carvings are found across the property.
Our visitors love to hike the trails, particularly the one mile loop.
Ah, fall!
The Acorn Bridge
Trixie, our friendly rat terrier, patrols the property. She will bark. She may approach. She will not bite.
May brings the native Louisiana irises.
Enjoy the firepit. There is always plenty of firewood stacked nearby. If you find us at firepit, join in. It is always a pleasant way to end a day.
Each summer the ferns flourish.
As if we needed more security, we recently added Festus the Bridge Troll to our staff. He warns that "Only the good shall pass." So, be good.
Kincaid Lake, a 2,600-acre reservoir, and the Kincaid Recreation Area provide a wide range of outdoor opportunities including camping, swimming, picnicking, boating, water skiing, fishing, hiking, and bicycling.
Valentine Lake is just 10 minutes away and one of numerous kayaking opportunities. We'll put you in touch with the local kayaking group.
Each of these beautiful hikes is within 20-60 minutes away. See the eagles on Kincaid Lake Trail, even closer. We'll put you in touch with the local hiking group.

    Tenure: New to Furnished Finder

Originally from New Orleans, Terri and Tom have been married four decades, the last two enjoying the peace and quiet of Central Louisiana's beautiful woodlands, after losing everything to Hurricane Katrina in 2005. We think will you like our Magnolia Cabin.
