Peaceful and Friendly

The Eagle's Nest is a wonderful place to stay! I thoroughly enjoyed the well supplied and comfortable home . The hosts were wonderful and very quiet. The exploration out in Seal Rock and the local areas are amazing! All the local restaurants I visited are very good. Newport is vibrant and full of interesting shops and things to do. If you are looking for a peaceful and friendly place, I highly recommend the Eagle's Nest!

Amazing!

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Eagle’s Nest! The home was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and beautifully furnished with everything I needed to feel right at home. The space was thoughtfully set up, making it perfect for both relaxing and day-to-day living. The host truly went above and beyond—kind, responsive, and genuinely caring about our experience. Quaint, quiet, cozy

This place is perfect !!! A quiet, cozy retreat in a convenient setting close to the beach and local amenities. It’s clear the owner takes pride in keeping everything clean, updated, and thoughtfully stocked. Guests are welcomed with baked goods on the kitchen table, what a thoughtful touch. The home is well prepared and fully stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Deena is warm, friendly, and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Seal Rock

My dog and I stayed at this property last summer. The apartment is lovely and very clean. The owners were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay great. The laundry is in the garage, which was very accessible. Yes, the apartment is on the second level which was not an issue even with the steps being outside. I am in my 70s and my dog is 10. I found that as long as we were careful we had no problem with the steps. I used the railing as needed and the owners had no problem with me having my dog off leash while maneuvering the stairs. The location is extremely quiet with as abundance of wildlife in the area. Its a short walk to a fabulous beach that was very rarely busy. I would recommend this place to anyone that loves the outdoors. Good restaurants very close by.

Disappointing

The unit is listed as dog friendly but the resident dog is neither dog or human friendly. There is no area for a dog to play or relax. You are required to take your dog out to the back alley to pee and poop. The stairs leading to the unit are extremely steep and not covered. Navigating them while carrying laundry or groceries is very challenging, especially in the rain. If you require sleeping during the day, this unit would not be ideal. The unit is above the garage and the homeowner is regularly making renovations which include the use of power tools.

Hi Amy, I am sorry you felt my 15 year old pekingese was not friendly. As I had told you prior to renting, he is blind and deaf. He is only 8 inches tall so usually most are not too intimidated and more understanding of his disabilities when he is frightened by newcomers such as your 60 pound pitbull and former bait dog, that lunged at him Most find his opinions humorous, because of his age and size. I was surprised you mentioned this as you never seemed to be bothered when you were here. We never mentioned free range roaming of animals on this property and did not expect you would even think that you would be able to turn your dog loose in the 2 acre yard . The yard was not advertised as to being rented, just the unit. I apologize for your confusion. This is a nice rural area only 3 blocks from a private 5 mile beach, which allows plenty of area for most animals to roam and play. The back alley that you refer to is actually outside the entry gate and it is not a alley but a paved two lane street in a rural community. It is also where I take my dog when he can make it that far. The stairs to the upstairs unit are of the usual pitch of 7/11" as most stairs. I did inquire with you if the stairs were going to be an issue prior to your lease and you said you were perfectly comfortable with stairs! Sorry you were dismayed that they were not covered. We are a very quiet, retired and considerate couple. I believe when you asked my husband to do an unauthorized remodel of the bathroom cabinets during the first week of your 4 months stay, you didn't have any problem with him using a saw to cut shelving and even indicated to him that you appreciated him. We always try to make it a habit to always wait for our tenants to leave before we mow or need to use any power tools that might disturb our tenants, as we want to make our tenants happy and comfortable. I have emails from you apologizing to me for your anger and behavior here at our home and making it an awkward place to live for this is also our home. We find this review to be more of your anger that you apologized profusely for in two emails and retaliatory in text. We hope you find peace in your life soon.
