Rental property was fine, would not recommend landlord

I stayed at the Hill Building September-December of 2025. The unit itself was perfect for what I needed and within walking distance to VCU's main campus. I paid $500 for a security deposit and had to reach out in January when I had not received any word of its return. I then received a check, cashed it, but had it bounce back and be removed from my account. I reached out to my direct contact with the rental as well as the management company so many times to sort this out I have lost count. I have called, emailed, texted and now am just being ignored. It has MONTHS of this. Very unresponsible and rude. It's not like they owe me a large sum of money but definitely evidence that I would not want to work with them in the future.
