30 day rental

I never write reviews on anything. However, I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with this stay. I will admit that the property was beautifully decorated and appeared cozy. However, it was extremely cold due to the heat not working properly and was infested with bugs. The beds were broken in both rooms and the refrigerator was not working properly. I threw away over $100 in groceries due to that in which the Landlord did not compensate me for. Be aware that she will take money from your deposit to suit her needs. She kept half of my deposit for not taking the trash to the road on a day that wasnt trash day and a cleaning fee because she expected me to leave the place like I found it in which I left it as I would leaving any hotel or short term stay. She also took money for the electric bill because I went over $100 and she knew the heat wasnt working properly. She wanted the thermostat on 65 which was not comfortable at all in November. I WOULD NOT recommend staying here.

While I generally do not engage in reviews or public responses, your claims contain several inaccuracies that require clarification for the record. First, your request to extend your stay for an additional 30 days was denied due to documented violations of house rules, including hosting a large gathering/party and evidence of cigarette smoke inside the home. As clearly stated in the rental agreement, parties and smoking are not permitted. These violations alone made an extension inappropriate. Your subsequent proposal to purchase the property was also declined, as the home is not for sale. Regarding maintenance concerns: Pest control: Terminix was dispatched promptly after you reported seeing a bug. The property was treated as a precaution, and no infestation was found. HVAC: Thermo Direct Heat inspected the system while you were in residence. At no point during their visit did you report that the heat was not working. The system was found to be operational. Refrigerator: The refrigerator is approximately two years old and was inspected by a technician after your complaint. It was confirmed to be functioning properly. Internet access: The issue was resolved once the correct password was entered. Door access: The front door keypad issue was resolved by you once you correctly entered the passcode. Bedroom lockout: I personally came to the property on a Sunday to unlock the bedroom door for you, despite this being a user error. Concerning your deposit: Deductions were made in accordance with the rental agreement and were fully documented. These included: A cleaning fee due to the condition of the home upon departure, which did not meet short-term rental checkout standards. Trash not being taken to the curb as required. Excessive utility usage beyond the included $100 electric allowance. The thermostat settings were within normal and reasonable parameters for November, and the heating system was confirmed to be operational. Claims that the property was “extremely cold” or that the heat was nonfunctional are inconsistent with inspection findings and your lack of reporting while contractors were present. Finally, while I appreciate your comment that the property was beautifully decorated and cozy, I strongly disagree with the characterization of this stay. I acted promptly, professionally, and in good faith to address every concern raised during your tenancy.
