I got locked out one day and was advised to jump the fence. When I said no, the landlord said to buy a ladder and he will pay for it. I deducted the cost of the ladder from the rent and Ricardo got upset. He threatened to increase the rent by $500. I had taped one set of curtains to the wall to prevent light from coming in because I slept during the day. When I removed the tape, it also removed the paint. The affected area was a few small patches. Ricardo initially wanted to charge me $500 claiming that he was going to need to repaint the entire wall. After I insisted on getting a quote myself, he bought the paint and charged me $371.93. I didnt receive an actual receipt. The landlord is a jerk who thinks hes a nice guy. If you want to be harassed via text or not see your entire deposit back, rent this place. This is a first-time landlord who has no idea what hes doing. He thinks youre going to put bubble wrap everywhere and not cause any wear and tear on his property.
