I don't want to leave!
Great location, great owners, great city. Thoughtful touches in Tater: Warm lighting, fluffy towels, fast reliable wifi (never went out during my 6 mos stay), and puzzles/games for rainy days. Tater has plenty of free street parking in front of the house, laundry in the basement, mini split for cooling/heating (as well as wall heaters for additional heating needs), and a fully equipped kitchen. You truly can just walk in and feel at home. The owners, R&S, are just the best. Very personable but they also respect your privacy and space. They were always easily reachable if any issues popped up too. Highly recommend a chat with them during your stay, they've got great recommendations for local stuff. Just good folks all around. The only downside: Leaving. I would absolutely stay longer if I could.
Your Modern Vintage Home Away From Home
This is the space you want when traveling for work. Historical Bluff walk above Tater that leads to an elevator ride down to the main drag. Restaurants, shopping, the river, and the locks. Lots of hooks in the bedrooms! Easy parking. A comfy space to refresh and restore. Great coffee and pastries a quick walk away. We had the BEST time here!!! Hope you enjoy it too. Cheers
Sweet Tater House
This sweet Tater home had absolutely everything we needed; kind, attentive hosts, a fantastic location in Oregon City, a total vibe and thoughtfully curated and comfortable accommodations. The location is perfect. The online photos and descriptions are spot on. It's less than 100 yards from the Oregon City Promenade that leads to the large bike/dog/people friendly elevator down to the town center. The neighborhood is safely walkable and beautiful! The bedrooms, mattresses and bedding are wonderful and clearly the owners are very well traveled and have thought of every touch to make guests comfortable. The owners are so kind and attentive and are extremely good communicators. We can't wait to go back and visit. If you're looking at a safe, spotless, fantastic short or longer term homebase for work or are just visiting, check out Tater! We loved it!
The perfect space
Tater House was the perfect space for my parents and myself when we passed through the Portland area. It is a simple and nicely decorated and furnished home in a quiet neighborhood. The house has all the amenities we required. The kitchen included all the large and small appliances. We were glad for the use of the washer and dryer in the basement. The living and dining space provided ample room for us when we were actually at the house because... The location of Tater House is delightful. It is steps away from the park that overlooks the falls. It is a short walk to the elevator that brings you down to the main street with restaurants, cafes, and shopping. It is also an easy few blocks' walk to the restaurants and cafes on the "top" of Oregon City. The backyard was a nice quiet space where we were able to sit and make phone calls to family back home.
RARE GEM! - PERFECT QUIET WORKING RETREAT!
If you're looking for a quiet writer's retreat or creative hideaway, this house is a gem. My husband, daughter, and I stayed here and were completely taken by the thoughtful details and cozy charmperfect for a long-term stay. The location is AMAZING. Just a short, scenic stroll to downtown, we made a daily tradition of riding the historic outdoor elevatoryes, a real elevatorinto town. A nearby cliffside park offers stunning views of the river and skyline. Downtown is full of charmgreat coffee, antique shops, and restaurants. Morning walks for breakfast quickly became a favorite part of our trip. After a day of exploring, returning to this cozy cottage felt like a treat. The beds are super comfortable, and the full washer and dryer were a big help for our family. Whether you're seeking focus, rest, or inspiration, this spot is a dream. Highly recommend itjust as long as its still available next time we visit :)

Great location. Super clean.
We had a great stay at Tater (we found out its short for Tater Tot). What a cute area! The house is in a very walkable neighborhood with historic houses and mature trees and gardens all around. We walked everywhere and took the ELEVATOR (look up Oregon City elevator) down to their Main Street which is only a five minute walk. Oregon City Indian Grill is amazing. Nebbiolo was a favorite also. There are bars and restaurants and vintage shops. The house is darling and I appreciated the high quality linens and bedding. There were plenty of pillows which I appreciated. The kitchen had everything we needed including a pretty fancy coffee maker. It was fun staying in such a well kept and well appointed historic home with so much character. We felt safe, comfortable and at home in Tater. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
