Be careful- dishonest business ethics

While the landlords appeared very friendly during initial interactions, our overall experience was marred by inconsistent communication, a serious breach of our lease agreement and Oregon state law, and a lack of financial transparency. Correspondence with the hosts was scattered and unpredictable. At times, requiring multiple follow-ups to get clear answers. The most critical issue occurred while we were still legally on the lease and had paid in full but had moved to a new house- the landlords covertly double booked the property and moved new tenants into the space. We only discovered this violation after the fact through booking websites. They returned the proper prorated amount after I issued a formal letter of demand. However, they still have not been up front regarding the lease they signed with the other tenant. They are dishonest people, I advise future tenants to document everything and prepare to advocate for their rights. I have proof of all claims made in this review.
