Great place to stay, all issues fixed

I am a traveling medical student and needed an apartment to stay at for my month in Madison. I originally was hesitant due to the poor review from Jan 16th, however after chatting with Ashley the assistant, I went through with staying here and am glad I did! All issues presented by the previous reviewer were either not present or had been fixed by them- the water was normal, they had multiple space heaters and a fan now, a trash can, a working microwave, brand new carpeting, etc. The only issue I ran into was that the central AC did not make it up to the apartment- of which they promptly had a window unit installed in the bedroom. After getting AC, there was not a single other issue while I was here. I was within walking distance to the arboretum, the free zoo, the lakes, and St. Marys. It was about 10-15 minutes to the main hospital and 25-30 minutes to the East hospital. 10/15 minutes downtown.

Not furnished / Slum Lord

Brown water out of the sink and shower in the bathroom. No trash can, No fans, but somehow this is furnished. The lower tenant controls the heat, so you cannot control the temp in your own unit. Not even a space heater in the middle of a Wisconsin winter. Carpet was disgusting, you could literally pick it up because it was separated. Not clean when I moved in. Gross bedding. I paid for the whole month and asked if I could get some money back if I found another place. He declined and kept the money. Bought a microwave because there is no way to reheat food, it tripped the circuit because the electrical is old and bad. Do not rent from this slum lord. John is a prime example of what is wrong with the housing market. The butterfly stickers on the wall are a nice touch, though.
