Very Bad Experience before move in date ( Jan 31 - June 17 2026)

The landlord unlawfully withheld my USD 1,000 security deposit, which I paid in mid-December 2025, due to his failure to communicate clearly and in a timely manner. In good faith, I made a partial rent payment one week before the agreed move-in date of January 31, 2026. The landlord returned the payment and stated that if I resent the funds, he would keep them and not return the money. Despite repeated requests and explaining my urgent need to secure alternative housing, he refused to release my deposit. Instead of resolving the matter lawfully, the landlord threatened legal action, even though his conduct constitutes unlawful retention of tenant funds. Furnished Finder Support reviewed the contract and communication, confirmed they do not handle financial disputes, and encouraged me to leave a review to help future tenants make an informed decision. I have since escalated the matter to the appropriate regulatory and legal authorities.
