Quiet and views
This quiet apartment is next to the owner's house. It's showcases local craftspeople's metal and woodwork, requiring extra upkeep and care - a priority for the owner, who read me four pages of instructions. Nothing can be stored on steel countertops in the kitchen and bathroom, and they can't get wet or be rubbed. The owner provides polishing cloths, and noted damage to the patina from prior renters. Keeping counters dry during normal daily use took a lot of care, as the faucets are close to the sinks' edges. The owner asks that you dry the wood floor outside the shower after each use. The AC and fan work well to keep cool during hot days and nights. There is one screened window. Opening the door and windows let in mosquitoes, so the AC was needed. You might want eyeshades, as there are no window shades, and the early summer sun is bright! If you need the internet, Wi-Fi only works in the living room/kitchen, and not at the desk in the bedroom, since those walls are WiFi-blocking.
Gorgeous retreat
I had an amazing two months in the Analog during a difficult transition period in my life. It was the PERFECT place for a personal retreat/re-set. Stunning views out the big picture window, a gorgeous property with great hosts. The house had everything I needed for a night in cooking at home, and was a short drive into town when I wanted a meal out. Can’t wait to go back!
