Safety Concerns

The hosts are genuinely lovely people who clearly care about this property. The house was clean, professionally cleaned, and stocked with thoughtful extras that made the stay comfortable. A few notes for future guests: Oakland has a reputation for being unsafe in parts, and for the most part I felt safe in this neighborhood. Unfortunately, my car was broken into during my stay, and the Ring camera didn't capture it. The hosts mentioned I could've parked in the garage, but no clicker was provided and the garage itself is quite small, so that wasn't really practical. The oven also stopped working toward the end of my stay, and it took about a month to get replaced. Since the hosts are based outside the US, coordinating repairs like this took longer than I'd have liked. I'd recommend confirming parking/security options in advance and setting expectations around repair response times.

Highly recommended place to stay in South Berkeley

I moved to the Bay Area for a summer internship and stayed at this beautiful house for 3 months (May to August). I had a great experience living at this place, which felt like home. The house is spacious, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the place is always clean. The room. The host is very receptive and genuinely willing to help you and make the stay even better. I would definitely go back for another visit and recommend it to future guests.
