Be Very Careful With Move-In Documentation
I would not recommend renting from this landlord. At the end of my tenancy, a large portion of my security deposit was withheld for charges I strongly dispute. Many of the claimed issues appeared to be pre-existing conditions or ordinary wear and tear, and the documentation provided did not clearly prove that the alleged damage was caused during my tenancy. I was also charged for re-listing/marketing expenses, including Zillow and Furnished Finder fees, even though I paid rent for every month of my lease and cooperated with showings while the property was being re-listed. Overall, I found the security deposit process unreasonable and disappointing. Future tenants should be very careful to document the condition of the property thoroughly at move-in and move-out, and should be prepared to dispute deductions if necessary.
