Great apartment...and landlords!
Like the city, this walkout-basement apartment is very charming. Thanks to Astoria's steep topography, this apt has its own entrance and yard separate from its beautifully remodeled 3-story house. That, plus the many windows, makes this well-planned apartment feel spacious. There's a lovely, secluded gravel side-yard (plants, fence) with a bubbler fountain and seating just for your dog and you. The property has beautiful - often fragile - gardens that renters may use, though I'd leave an "enthusiastic" dog like mine behind. (Their own dog is more akin to a cat.) The landlords are friendly, professional, and accommodating, without ever intruding on your privacy. They even redecorated a bit to accommodate my quirky dog soon after my arrival. The main house has hardwood floors near the entrance that can be heard below, though the owners adjust for this and have added insulation; some soft background music/TV easily covers it. Overall, I highly recommend this place and its owners!
