This part of Alexandria has a calm, residential feel with tree-lined streets and a mix of townhomes and single-family houses. It's easy to get to nearby shopping centers, grocery stores, and casual dining spots without going far. Commuting is manageable with access to major roads and public transit options within a short drive. There are also nearby parks and walking areas, making it easy to spend time outside.

Decent room in a nice location, but there were many issues during my stay. The listing does not make it clear that host lives in the basement full-time and has 2 dogs. When I moved in, there were boxes throughout the house and the living room was not fully set up. There were recurring plumbing/water issues for most of my stay, with pipes frequently making loud noises and causing noticeable shaking at night. The dogs frequently cried and whined when the host left, especially on weekends, and one had an indoor accident in a shared space before they were kept downstairs. Laundry access required asking permission each time. The host was particular about shared spaces and reminded tenants that we were "living in his house." After move-out, there was a significant security deposit deduction for what I considered routine cleanliness issues, including crumbs on the counter and floor. I was charged despite no documentation showing I caused the mess. Overall, I would NOT recommend this rental.
Unprofessional
I am in the military and have stayed in over 10 different locations over the past year. Some are excellent and others satisfactory; however, this location is the most poorly run I have stayed in. The owner neglected to inform me that the unit was undergoing renovations during my stay. There was no furniture on the main floor, the bathrooms do not lock or have towels, the windows do not have blinds or curtains, there is trash and boxes everywhere, and only half of the appliances this unit is listed as having function. Perhaps once the renovations are completed the unit will be better, but to withhold all of this information from me stinks of dishonesty and unprofessionalism. Finally, my only positive comments. The bed is comfy and the owner answers text quickly.
