Private zoo

This place felt like a charming hidden gem—almost like having access to a private little zoo. It was a wonderfully comfortable spot to stay for a few months. The bedroom was spacious, the kitchen was quaint yet fully functional, and having in-unit laundry made everything incredibly convenient. One of the most unique highlights was the animals. After a long day, it was genuinely relaxing to unwind while watching and interacting with birds from around the world—it added such a peaceful, special touch to everyday life. The owner is personable, welcoming, and genuinely fun to be around, which made the experience even better. I truly enjoyed my time here and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, distinctive place to stay

The place is a gem

Staying at this cottage felt like having a private nature retreat while still being close to everything in the La Mesa area. The space is thoughtfully remodeled and cozy, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. What really makes it special is the setting—you fall asleep to the sound of the creek and wake up to birdsong, with no traffic noise at all. The property is lush and full of life, from fruit trees to the many birds roaming around, which gives it a peaceful, almost sanctuary-like feel. Having access to the pool and jacuzzi is a great bonus, and the fresh eggs were a unique and appreciated touch.

I had a wonderful stay at this cottage and highly recommend it. The space was spotless, private, and felt very safe—perfect after long workdays. Everything was new and well appointed, making it easy to settle in right away. The landlord was kind and welcoming, which made a big difference from the start. The location was ideal—close to the hospital, shopping, restaurants, and the gym. I especially loved the beautiful grounds, with lush landscaping, plant life, and animals that made the space feel peaceful and relaxing. The pool area added to that vacation-like feel when I wasn’t working. I truly enjoyed my time here and would absolutely return for another contract.
