Sweet home from home (3B1B) in the Heart of Seattle's U-District (University of Washington)

Peaceful, no complaints

I lived here for three months during an internship. The host was incredibly kind and made me really enjoy my time here. The room I lived in faces south (towards downtown), so I had a nice view. I honestly don't have much to say because I have so little to complain about. I'm not the type of person to comment on other reviewers, but I would like to note that my usage of the bathrooms or kitchen was completely unrestricted, and I received my security deposit in full after moving out. My only issue was the location, since it's next to a highway and a little far from the light rail stop. With the window closed you can't really hear the cars, though, and it took me ~25 minutes to commute downtown every morning, which is still pretty quick.

Hostile stay — deposit withheld, would not recommend

I rented a room here for about a month over the summer. The listing looked fine, but the living experience was hostile. The host lives on-site and used racist and derogatory language toward me. She shut off the water while I was using the kitchen, restricted kitchen use late at night, and withheld my deposit even though she agreed in writing that it was refundable. I left earlier than planned because of the environment (moved to a new place). I would not stay here again or recommend it to others, especially anyone renting a single room with the host present.
